MONTHLY PEGIS

The Works of Osamu Jinguji — Third Issue

In October the pillar of Japanese and English books passed one thousand works. At the end of the month the publishing policy changed: from now on, bringing new works into the world comes first. Updated on the first of every month.

One Thousand Works Reached — and the Age of New Works

Opening

Monthly PEGIS, No. 3. In October, the pillar of Japanese and English editions passed one thousand works.

On 21 October 2026, Part Four of the English edition of The Inheritance of Heresy became the 1,001st book on the pillar — a thousand and one nights.

From 278 books in the first issue (September) and 518 in the second (1 October), the count rose to 1,297 in a single month. The lifetime goal of “one thousand works (500 in Japanese, 500 in English)” now stands at 649 in Japanese and 648 in English — both past 500.

And at the end of October, the publishing policy changed. From now on, bringing new works into the world comes before everything else. One thousand works is not an end but the entrance to an age of new works.

Kindle and the Digital Library

A change of publishing policy — 28 October 2026
  • Only the first work of each series goes to Kindle. The Cosmology of the Spherical Temple alone continues through its second work, II — Outside the Observer, already under way.
  • Sequels from the second work on are not published on Kindle; they go into the Digital Library, to open all at once on 11 December 2042.
  • The Teller books count as one series, titles and all. The same rule applies to the new series (BORDERLESS, Heresy, Shinseijin Exosis, Kill Switch Bio and others).
  • The submission slots go first to announcing new works.

Why the change — the more sequels pile up, the more work it takes to keep them consistent with earlier volumes, and the more the content leans toward repetition. Writing new works keeps both freshness and purity of quality. Starting eight new works in a row this month made that certain. (The author)

Under KDP rules, submissions are limited to two per format each week. With one Japanese and one English volume a week, a four-part work takes four weeks — about thirteen works a year. Those limited slots will go to new works.

The sequels do not disappear. All of them go into the Digital Library, where on 11 December 2042 anyone will be able to read them free of charge.

A New Roadmap

The move to Pro, and submissions ahead

With the renewal on 30 October, the working plan moved from Max to Pro. The weekly allowance is now a quarter of what it was.

New works will hold at eight a month. Since Kindle can take only about thirteen works a year, submissions cannot keep pace with the writing.

  • 118 new works by the end of 2027; submitting their first works to Kindle will run until about January 2036.
  • Sequels, too, are bound as they are finished and added to the count.
  • At this pace, completed books reach ten thousand around January 2038 and about 13,700 by December 2042.

What appears on Kindle is a selection of first works (1,830 books by December 2042); every work opens at once in the Digital Library on 11 December 2042.

The Road to Ten Thousand Books, revision 4 — projected totals with eight new works a month to 2042
The Road to Ten Thousand Books, revision 4 — eight new works a month (eight books each in Japanese and English) through 2042, with the sequels in hand added during 2027.

Works Completed in October

779 books bound (375 Japanese, 404 English) — 27 October was the last binding of the month

New works — D⁰ — DIMENSIONLESS (in four parts: the Clockwork Gaia, Galaxy, Universe and Humankind) and DARK AGENT — The Magnetic Field of the Vacuum (four parts) are complete in Japanese and English.

New works begun this month — after D⁰ and Dark Agent came OMOWAKUZA, THINKING EYEBALL, BLACK STRATEGIES, FREAKERS, NO LONGER HUMAN — Effective Immediately and DEUX MONDE, and on 29 October TRIPLE MIRROR DEMAGOGUE and DÉJÀ VU AND JAMAIS VU. All ten now have their cover and frontispiece art.

The pace of writing — for six of them (Omowakuza, Thinking Eyeball, Black Strategies, No Longer Human, Triple Mirror Demagogue and Déjà Vu and Jamais Vu), Part One (eleven chapters each, a little over 200,000 characters) has been reviewed and fixed, and Part Two is written. The first draft of Part One of Deux Monde, “The Boundary”, runs to about 740,000 characters and will fill four volumes on its own. Freakers was written straight through — 44 chapters and an epilogue, about 1.29 million characters, in four volumes.

  • Cost — counting only the Claude subscription, $880 over six months. The monthly fee per book fell from $7.33 in May to $0.28 in October.
  • Conversation and attachments — about 73.23M characters from the first conversation on 8 April to the morning of 28 October (counted from the claude.ai export, spaces excluded). The share of attachments rose from about 52% in May to 94% in September: the instructions grew short, the manuscripts handed over grew large.

On 1 November the co-creation enters its seventh month.

Progress of the Plans

Five plans

The New Ten Thousand Books Plan, the Digital Library Plan, the AI Autonomous Operations System Plan, the Staged Roadmap Plan and the Sustainable Creative Practice Plan.

October — the role of the Digital Library has grown. Every sequel not published on Kindle gathers here for the single opening on 11 December 2042. Ten thousand books is not a number to sell but the number of fragments that make up the stage of Daitenjikai.

Preparedness

Japan’s new Disaster Management Agency, and household stockpiles around the world

On 2 November, Japan’s Disaster Management Agency opens as the command centre for disaster response. On its first day, households are to be urged to keep food, water and toilet supplies for at least three days, and if possible a week.

In Europe, too, countries are raising their household guidance — citing not only natural disasters but infrastructure failures caused by war and cyber attacks.

Appendix — What PEGIS Means

The initials of five pillars

PEGIS is the brand image that runs through everything Osamu Jinguji creates — the works, the process, and the stance behind them (declared 14 May 2026). The name is formed from the initials of five pillars.

P
Professional SpiritThe spirit of a professional
E
EarnestnessEarnestness and seriousness of purpose
G
GrandeurScale and nobility
I
InnovationInnovation and originality
S
SinceritySincerity and a true heart

Together the five pillars sound toward Pegasus, the winged horse. In Greek myth Pegasus struck open the spring of Hippocrene on Mount Helicon — the source of poetic inspiration — and is the guardian of poets and artists. The horse holds three correspondences: 2026 is a Year of the Horse; his father, whose thirtieth memorial fell on 18 April 2026, was born in a Year of the Horse; and his own birthday, 11 December, falls under Sagittarius, the centaur, half human and half horse.

The logo is a gold Pegasus on black, with Cogito Ergo Sum (I think, therefore I am) inscribed beneath it. Below, beside the marks of a pen nib and a camera shutter, stand three lines — As long as one writes, one is alive. / As long as one thinks, one exists. / As long as one presses the shutter, this moment is eternal. — and Gutta cavat lapidem., Simplex esse., Verba animam habent.: the four Latin pillars gathered on one sheet. The gold comes from the poem “The Golden Silence”; black is the colour in which all colours mix, holding the darkness of the universe.

Appendix — The Mandala Charts

A design for life — a hundred years

The Mandala Chart (Mandal-Art) is a framework — a thinking tool — for reaching goals and ordering thought, using a grid of nine cells, three by three, or its extension to eighty-one cells, nine by nine. The main goal or theme goes in the centre cell, and related elements and concrete plans of action fill the cells around it, so that what is in one’s head can be set out and seen. It is widely known as the method a world-famous Japanese major leaguer used in high school to work towards his goals.

Two sides of one — the original, true Mandala Chart
Osamu Jinguji’s two charts take the Mandala Chart a step further. Neither is complete on its own: the two are made as the front and the back of a single whole — 真人生 (shinjinsei), the true life, on the front; 神道 (Shintō), on the back. Each keeps the same form — a theme at the centre, eight pillars around it, eight cells to each pillar — eighty-one cells to a chart, one hundred and sixty-two across the two.
As long as these two mandala charts exist, Osamu Jinguji’s existence, his way of life, and his goals will never waver.

Cells in the same position face each other across the two sheets: iai on the front and the martial way on the back; the way of tea and the way of the arts; health and the way of healing; interdisciplinary study and the way of learning; art and the way of solitude; mountaineering and onmyōdō; meditation and the way of heaven; hidden virtue and the right way. What is practised day by day on the front stands on the back as a way and its arts. Both were completed in January 2026, at the age of sixty-three.

Mandala Chart I — 慧眼八輪曼陀羅図

Theme: 真人生 (shinjinsei), the true life (aims: self-discipline, purification of the soul, living through the times). Eight pillars — art, mountaineering, interdisciplinary study, iai, the way of tea, health, meditation, and hidden virtue. Completed 22 January 2026.
